Significant

Significant podcast artwork: an orange outline of a brain wearing blue headphones on a dark navy background.

Significant is my podcast. The subtitle is "A Podcast For Your Mind," and that is the idea: long, curious, carefully researched episodes on discoveries, technologies, and thinkers, from consciousness to concussions and beyond, told by a neurologist who likes to follow a question wherever it goes.

Season one

Nine episodes, released between November 2024 and May 2025. Each runs somewhere between forty minutes and an hour.

  1. Should Everyone Be On A GLP-1?
  2. Tackling CTE: Inside the NFL's Concussion Crisis and the Fight for Change
  3. Catalysts and Craters: The Collision of Science and Industry (Part 1)
  4. Nobels, Nitrogen, Nutrition: The Nexus of Science and Industry (Part 2)
  5. The Alien Hand and the Shattered World
  6. Cenotes of the Yucatán: Secrets of Life and Water
  7. Stranger Tongues, Stranger Tides
  8. Superintelligence: The Cat's Out of the Bag
  9. Don't Die: AI Alignment, Part 1

The season moves from medicine (weight-loss drugs, concussion) through the history of science and industry, to the parietal lobes and the sense of self, to animal and machine communication, and finally to superintelligence and AI alignment, which is where my current work lives.

There is also a companion feed, Signet, which condenses each episode into a short AI-narrated version.
